New products on the way

Image
It’s always exciting when we have new products on the way. I found out yesterday that one of the new things I’ve been waiting for is due to arrive in just two weeks. I thought I’d take this chance to drop a few hints about some of the new things that we’ve got on the way and tell you where you can sign up to be the first in the know. Product update Our first items to arrive will be a bit of a product update. This is something that we’ve been selling for a little while, but with a slightly new version on the way, there’s something a bit new to get your hands on. I don’t want to give too much away right now, but once this arrives, I’ll be doing a few discounts for our VIP list and maybe a giveaway or two as well. I’m also going to be reopening our free cloth nappy pack scheme . Please don’t apply for this yet, as I will be only considering those entries that come in once it is open. You are more than welcome to donate to the scheme if you like, to enable us to help even more families he

Do I need to pre-wash cloth nappies?

Image
You may have been told that you need to pre-wash cloth nappies, but how important is it? I’m going to take a look at what happens when you wash your nappies for the first time and why it’s important. We’ll also look at the best way to prepare your reusable nappies for their first use. Why pre-wash cloth nappies? There are two main reasons to wash new nappies before you use them for the first time. Firstly, you want to remove anything that they may have picked up during manufacture or when on their way to you. Lots of nappies will have oils from the machinery used to make them which will affect their performance. When it comes to natural fibres such as cotton, starch is often used on the fabric to make stitching easier. Although it’s unlikely to harm your baby in any way, it’s best to remove anything like this that might be on the nappies. The second reason for this prewash is to activate the absorbency of the reusable nappies. In some cases, such as when using hemp fibres , it will tak

As most of us know, nappies and menstrual products are pretty essential items when you need them. Fortunately, the government agrees and so we are able to keep shipping out orders. We have plenty of stock of most items on hand and are sending items out daily as we did during the last lockdown (again with government approval). There are a few things to keep in mind if you are placing an order. Deliveries might be delayed slightly, please be patient when waiting for your order. We are shipping out every day. If you can give us details of a safe place to leave the package, that would help the courier driver. We are using appropriate hygene steps to ensure that items are packed safely. If you need advice or information on any of our products, then please get in touch via email or social media. I’ll do my best to reply as soon as possible. Take ca

How our cloth nappies work

Image
Wondering how our cloth nappies work? Then look no further. While our Dinky Pocket Nappy might at first glance look just like many other nappies on the market. There’s actually much more to it. The dinky pocket nappy Like many other nappies, the dinky nappy has a range of sizing snaps on the front. It also features four snaps on the back. These are designed to make the nappy fit even tiny newborn babies. The deep pocket at the back of the nappy makes stuffing easier. It also means that you can shake out the insert when it’s dirty. There’s no need to reach in and pull it out. The deep leg gussets are great for keeping everything in. Less chance of leaks or poo explosions. They also give a really great fit on most babies. The extra fabric also allows for more stuffing. Ideal for those nighttime boosters. How dinky cloth nappies work Snap the front snaps (rise snaps) down to the size you need. If using the nappy on a newborn, then snap the back snaps closed. This will make the nappy narr

Setting up with cloth nappies before your baby arrives can be a good idea. You know that you have everything that you need and don’t need to worry about sorting things out once your baby arrives. But what’s the best way to get set up with reusable nappies? Birth to Potty Packs For some people, the best way to start using cloth nappies is to get hold of one or two different types and give them a go.
