One of the fantastic things about Ecobots are our double gusset nappy covers, it’s one of the things that many of the 100’s of Kiwi families who have used Ecobots cloth nappies have really loved, but what exactly are they? Why would you really want to use double gusset nappy covers?

What are double gusset nappy covers?

Double gusset nappy covers are covers that have an extra elasticated section at the leg hole. This means that there is an extra layer of protection at the leg, which is where a lot of leaks can occur. Rather than having elastic on the edge of the nappy cover, this extra piece of elasticated fabric provides an extra level of protection.

What are the benefits of double gussets?

There are a number of benefits to double gusset nappy covers. The most obvious one is that it helps to prevent leaks at the leg. Tiny newborn babies often don’t fit their nappies well in this area, as their legs can be so small. Double gussets help to grip around the leg better, giving a seal which helps to prevent leaks. For older babies, the double gusset helps the nappy cover to fit better, whether they have chubby thighs or skinnier legs.

How do you use double gusset nappy covers?

The great thing about double gusset nappy covers is that they work really well if you decide to pad fold the nappy and just place it in the cover, because it helps to hold the nappy in position. They also work really well with a nappy fastened with a snappy too, which makes them a really versatile nappy cover.
