Favourite Quotation
What’s your favourite quotation? Do you have one? I’m not entirely sure that I do. There are lots of quotations that I’ve heard, and that I like, but a favourite quotation? Or even a quotation that comes to mind for that matter? Not so easy.
This too shall pass
Strictly speaking, this isn’t really a quotation, but I think it will almost do and as it’s something that I remind myself often, I think it’s worth including in this post about my favourite quotation. It’s worth remembering, not only when you’re dealing with something difficult, but also when you’re enjoying things. I often remind myself when I’m playing with my children, they’re young now, and lots of fun, but “this too shall pass” and I really need to make sure that I make the most of them while they are this age, as it doesn’t last forever.
She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain
This quotation is printed on the side of a bag that I carry around with me most days, it amuses me partly because I’ve always been a bit of a book worm, and also because it suggests that too much reading might be bad for you, which is a bit different to what people usually suggest. It comes from a book by Louisa May Alcott, although not one that I’ve read. I did love her little women books as a child though.
A favourite quotation
The problem with quotations is that they generally appeal because they ring true at a particular time, so right then, when you read them they strike a cord with you. They may not stick around in your mind, or in my mind at least. As a result, I really don’t think that I have a favourite quotation. Do you?
